This is the third cheap diesel heater I have owned so far. The first one I had worked well for a few years without any issues until It quit. I decided to replace and buy another instead of diagnosing the problem. These are cheap and I figured I would keep the old one for parts. in the process I ended up with a unit that was a real POS, and learned all about error codes and different mother boards. I also learned that the mosfet for the glow plug can be suspect for an error code 3 (glow plug error), and you should always have a spare glow plug. This 3kw happy buy is the third one and Im happy with it. The dial controller keeps things simple, and the heater has the light blue mother board (pcb). This is to say that the dial controller works with the blue pcb- hopefully that helps someone. When looking to replace controllers its never a guarantee it will work with the motherboard. The 3kw puts out plenty of heat, and has kept my van 75 degrees when its well below freezing outside. When I first decided to get one of these I figured they were 10% of the cost of an Esbar or Webasto, so I could buy 10 of the cheap ones and still be in the clear. I guess I can get 7 more but I the time on install is lost to eternity. Since I had the broke second one I learned more on how to fix. Good knowledge when fooling around with these.
