I love using this thing. But it rings like a bell, to the point where the noise is unpleasant. And, it's not particularly well made, in short, it's flimsy. The blade is SOFT steel .. (very soft) and so it doesn't hold up well to hard wood, particularly if knots are involved. The good news is, it's easy to sharpen. The bad news is, it's easy to bend the blade. (Don't hit the blade with your hammer.)This tool is VERY useful for making soft wood into small kindling, as well as for making big wood smaller. I got the biggest one, and am very glad I did.I like it so much I'll order another when this one has "had it" (or I might have a local fabricator make one out of stronger, harder materials for me). Whichever way I go, it's definitely a tool I don't want to be without, going forward. I recommend trying it out.
