I've only had this fan running for about a month now...but it is a quality item. At the first setting, I can't even hear it running at all. It gets very loud at the highest setting, but to be expected with that much air movement. The controller is somewhat basic, but works as it should. I actually like that the controller has some weight to it. Seems well made. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the functionality and ease of use of the controller. It's not exactly intuitive and could be improved. All in all...a great product at a great value.
